Survivor cars and their stories never fail to surprise and delight us at the same time, we’ve rattled the chains of history yet again and here’s what we found;

Being a small isolated island, Tasmania has a habit of producing some amazing Survivors and this issue’s VG Hemi Pacer is no exception.

For Holden fans we have a beautiful HQ GTS Monaro coupe that was recently part of an exhibition about Australian car design at the National Gallery of Victoria.

Back in the day, if you had a bit of extra coin and you wanted to let others know then you bought BIG, and the twin headlight ZA Fairlane featured in this issue was just the ticket. This one has a ridiculously low 19,000 miles on the clock!

Bolwell were Australian built sports cars that were completely different to what the big three were producing in the early 1970s. We’ve found an amazing Bolwell Survivor in Coca-Cola Yellow (yes, apparently there was a Coca-Cola Yellow!) whose beautiful curves have stood the test of time.

Toyota made some great little sports cars in the 1970s but they also made the Toyota Corona. Medium sized, well engineered and well assembled it was a reliable set of wheels for mum and we’ve found a near-new Survivor.

The Triumph Stag was quite a sporty car desired by many back in the day, and still command respect today especially if they’re a Survivor. If you’re looking to buy a Survivor, then you’ll enjoy

Ross Vasse’s “How-to Guide” that shows you what to look for when buying a Survivor, using a rare coloured XB Fairmont hardtop as an example.
