Issue #43

A$14.95

Top of the Christmas list in this issue is an Ebony Black 1973 Chrysler VJ Charger E55 340cid 4-barrel V8 ordered by a hot shot advertising whiz-kid named Jack Vaughan, who was responsible for the famous ‘Hey Charger’ slogan. Next up is a beautiful 1971 Holden LC Torana sedan that thankfully missed out on getting some serious modifications. From the blue oval stable is something very different, Moonraker. It was built to promote the new James Bond film in Australia and the new XD Falcon 5.8 litre V8. There’s not many ex-Bathurst unrestored race car Survivors out there but the Isuzu Bellett featured here is the real deal. It was only raced once in the 1966 Gallaher 500 and then quietly sold out the back door.

Nothing says Australia more than outback car wrecks, and in this issue, we showcase an incredible collection photographed by many car enthusiasts who stumbled across them. For our Future Survivor segment, we feature an AU Tickford TE50 T3 regarded by many as the modern-day HO. It was built for the boy racer in mind, complete with a 5-speed manual and a stroker motor. This issue’s International Survivor is a superb 1978 XC Ford Fairmont GXL in Raw Orange that left Sydney, NSW, when new to go across the ditch where it was well looked after by a fastidious owner. There’s something for everyone in this edition, so once you’ve finished reading this cracker issue, join the conversation online at our Facebook page and tell us which story was your favourite!
