Once again, we kick off this issue with a bang! Only one 1971 Falcon GTHO Phase 3, had the paint code C and it was dubbed ‘The Unicorn’. Factory-fitted with a wind-back sunroof, cloth inserts and an 8-track stereo, we uncover the real story behind this legendary GTHO. Expect to be knocked over with a feather when we show you never-before-seen old photographs.

From the Mopar stable, we have a Chrysler Centura that was parked-up for nearly 20 years. Covered in country dust and surrounded by years of cobwebs, this Hemi powered example was rescued and is back on the road where it belongs. Back when Holden ruled the roads, the 1972 Torana GTR XU-1 featured in this issue (Body No 5) was built at the Adelaide Plant, and formed part of the original batch of 200 cars required for CAMS homologation. It was optioned with dealer accessories such as a left hand mirror, rear venetians, air-conditioning and a unique continental style vinyl roof to make it stand out. We also reveal a factory anomaly that’ll have you scratching your head…

Go back a few decades and you’d see the Corona ‘shovel nose’ parked at almost every bowls club in the country, but nowadays you’d be hard pressed to see one every few years. This 1969 example has survived in the careful and caring hands of its only owner and shows 96,000 well-earned miles. Signal Red with black trim and plenty of 1960s bling, this one stands out from the crowd. This time for our regular Future Survivor segment, we break through the sound barrier with a weapon from HSV, a supercharged VF GTS-R in Phantom which is showing only 2,458 careful kilometres. We have no doubt that this model will become a future collectable, as many have already been squirrelled away by those in the know. What’s better than one International Survivor? A collection of 1970s luxurious Survivors including Chrysler New Yorkers and Lincoln Continentals. You’ll be blinded by the bling that these beauties wear and their 1970s disco swagger.

We’re sure you’re going to enjoy another ripper issue! Oh, and if your mates haven’t discovered Survivor Car yet, be sure to show them what it’s all about.
