Issue #33

A$14.95

Heading this issue is a brilliant and relatively rare VH 770 Charger fitted with a fire-breathing Fireball 318cid V8. This Mopar was purchased new as a Mother’s Day gift. Specifically chosen in Plum Metallic with a white interior, this one is a real ‘plum’ Survivor.

Next up is a HQ Monaro GTS showing some battle scars, some faded and chipped paintwork – but a Survivor nonetheless – this 253cid V8 powered 4-speed HQ Monaro GTS cuts the mustard.

Wait until you read about Bluebird, Eve’s XR Fairmont. Purchased new, they’ve been together sharing adventures for over five decades. Bluebird is factory-fitted with the Cruisomatic 289cid V8 and finished in Opal Green metallic with contrasting parchment trim which has all the Fairmont fruit.

Then there’s George’s Elfin GTS coupe. It’s a unique sports car that was commissioned by a man from a fledgling racecar constructor, who oversaw the design and provided the specification and, almost six decades later, is still its proud owner!

Decades ago, if you required a vehicle for working on the farm or in the bush with four-wheel drive capability, there wasn’t much to choose from. Thankfully, Land Rover had a solid reputation with a go anywhere attitude. This Land Rover Series 3 was purchased new by a farming family and not only is it still in the family, it’s a very well looked after Survivor that still has plenty of go.

From the Future Survivor file, a car that is quite possibly the spiritual successor to the famous GTHO, we have a Vixen Red FPV FG GT R-Spec with only 3,782 kilometres! Packing a supercharged punch to anything that’s game enough to glance sideways at it, this one ticks all the right boxes. This Boss will move you.

There’s plenty for everyone in this super issue of Survivor Car, kick back, enjoy and don’t forget – have your voice heard and share your stories and old photos with us – email them to me at Editor@SurvivorCarAustralia.com.au.
