Issue #23

A$14.95

Many of us have bought a raffle ticket hoping to snag first prize, a car. That’s exactly what happened in 1977, when the lucky winning ticket holder won an LX SS Torana hatchback. This baby kicks off our lead feature story for issue 23.

Following up, is a beautiful VG Pacer Survivor that’s been in the same family since new.

From Ford, we have a Falcon Deluxe two-door hardtop, fitted with the 170cid Pursuit motor and Ford-O-Matic transmission.

For something different, how about a rare Peter Wherrett Special Sigma with just 48,495kms on the clock! You may remember Peter Wherrett, he was a motoring journalist and host of the TV show ‘Torque’. He told Chrysler he could build a better car, they said, “Show us”, and he did.

For those that are intrigued by classic cars rusting in peace, we have another special feature called Riverland Treasures.

From the International Survivor files, we have El Hemi. An amazing survival story of a 1970 Dodge ‘Hemi’ Challenger R/T that was bought new in the United States and taken to Venezuela.

Due to the lack of parts to keep it maintained, it was parked and forgotten about until decades later when it was resurrected.

So, grab yourself a brew, make yourself comfortable and take a step back in time with yet another issue of Australia’s favourite motoring magazine. Enjoy!
