Kicking off Issue 18 is a cracking HJ Monaro GTS coupe. Only 606 HJ GTS coupes were produced making it one of the rarest Monaros. This model often took a back seat to the more desirable HK-HQ Monaros but these days it stands on its own for desirability. 

Sporting the blue oval is a ‘GT Spec’ ZD Fairlane 351 in Wild Violet with white trim, which was one of six gifted to the top selling Ford dealers in the country at the time. We also feature an Aussie assembled Customline, which many of us grew up with. The 1970s were funky times, and we’ve found a unique XC Fairmont Survivor with all its ‘Day Two Mods’ that is nicknamed ‘Porn Car’. 

Early Chryslers are getting thin on the ground, especially wagons but in this issue, we feature an excellent example of a VG Safari station wagon. 

For something different, how about something with Italian styling, a hand-built British body and big block American V8, enter the mighty Jensen Interceptor! 

Of course, ‘burnouts’ are illegal these days but back in the day they were almost a rite of passage. In this issue, we present images of burnouts from back in the day sent to us by readers. They make for a very interesting ‘Special Feature.’
